My Story
_Born in Madrid, Spain, I came to the United States as an immigrant at
age five landing in New York City. Most of my life has been spent in Los
Angeles where I attended UCLA majoring in Spanish and Linguistics.
When I needed help to care for my first child, I started just like any other new parent. I did not know where to turn and how to begin the process. After a great deal of trial and error, I ultimately found a wonderful nanny to help me. Realizing that there was a desperate need for good companies who could help other parents like me find the right assistance for their children, I began working from home building my company. Established in 1989, Domestic Connections Agency has been a full service agency for over 20 years. Our domestic agency is located in Encino, California.
Several years ago, I started writing books to help household employers follow proper procedures for hiring and maintaining their domestic help. In 2006 "Help! How to Find Hire Train & Maintain Household Help!" was published and received the Mom's Choice Award.
A second book, "The Professional Housekeeper", has just been completed to train all types of domestic employees how to perfect their skills and become professional housekeepers."The Professional Housekeeper" is available in Spanish or English. This offers both the employer and employee training in: Housekeeping, Laundry, Marketing, Cooking, Table Setting and Flower Arranging. PLUS a separate manual on Career Development: How to Present Yourself for a Job, How to Establish an Employee/Employer Contract, How to Deal with Problems and Issues on the Job, and How to Maintain your Job.
My services and household training materials for domestic workers and household employers are a great resource for all your hiring questions and prepares you for a Private Household work environment. I offer household training sessions and seminars for all domestic workers from beginner housekeepers to household managers as she travels across the country to Domestic Agencies to train nannies and housekeepers on professional development, cleaning, organizational skills, time management, household cleaning products, laundry, basic cooking skills, table setting, serving, basic childcare, home and child safety. We can come to your home and do an in-home assessment or send you the appropriate assessments lists to create a Personalized Household Manual.
My latest achievement is El Ama de Casa Bilingue - a 5 volume, 4 DVD set for Spanish-speaking domestics to learn their profession while learning English for the Household.
Currently I serve as a consultant to families, lecture at educational centers for parents and conduct weekend training seminars for nannies and housekeepers in various cities - providing training to agencies and their candidates.
